You know that old saying “ knowing is not enough … we must apply.” ?
Well, I knew plenty — trust me. My circle of friends and colleagues include some of the best coaches and nutritionists in the World, and I’ve spend thousands upon thousands of hours studying my craft. Problem was, I just never mastered the behavioral tools necessary to apply what I knew to MYSELF. That all changed at about the age of 50 for me, when I finally managed to get my act together and reached the level of fitness I’d always thought reflected my level of expertise … not only did I see my abs for the first time ever (better late than never right?!), I’m stronger than I’ve ever been (as in 500-pound deadlift, 400-pound squat, etc), and after 35 years of continuous training, I have to injuries or pain whatsoever.
So the moral of my little story here is, even World-renowned trainers struggle with their fitness sometimes, so it’s not terribly usual if you are too.
Today, I run a successful online training program, where I show (mostly) older guys how to get in the best shape of their lives at an age where they never thought it’d be possible. If you’re frustrated with your fitness levels, believe me, I know that feeling, and I’d LOVE to help you out. Just click this LINK for more info.
I’ve also got a short application for you to fill out so that I can collect some history about you and also to ensure that you’re a good fit for the program — it’s only 10 questions so it’ll only take a few minutes of your time.
Thanks for listening in — I’m very responsive to feedback, so please contact me!
(I’ll finally include my “Formal” Bio, along with some client feedback):
“One of the signs of a great teacher is the ability to make the subject matter seem simple. Charles Staley is one of these rare teachers. After listening and talking to him, you suddenly achieve a new awareness of training. You go to the gym and, suddenly, everything makes sense, and you wonder why you haven’t been doing it his way since day one.” – Muscle Media 2000 magazine August, 1999

Feedback From Clients:
“In case I haven’t said so recently: I am very happy to be working with you. It will be a year come April, and I hope to be able to continue for a while to come. Thank you for everything!”— Jason B.
“I’ve worked with Charles for several months. We started out working on my technique for the main barbell lifts with the primary goal of gaining strength and moving more weight. Since I view weight training as a lifetime pursuit we also focused on performing the lifts correctly to minimize the chances of injury and maximize training longevity. During my time so far training with Charles I have gained strength and set several personal records. With his encouragement I entered my first powerlifting competition and met all the goals I set for myself prior to the competition. He has also helped me develop a training program to achieve my specific goals and I look forward to continued work with Charles.” — Chris N.
“When I first met and trained with Charles 3 years ago I knew very little about serious weight training. My goal was to gain expertise in some basic lifts to improve strength while understanding the science behind it. Charles delivered & never tired of my many questions. Now I am routinely approached in the gym by other lifters who compliment me on my form. I continue to make gains in strength with Charles skillful coaching and am able to pass on what I’ve learned to others with the proper explanations. He truly has a unique way of explaining concepts clearly, & possesses seemingly unending patience in doing so.” — Teri G.
“I was fortunate enough to have met Coach Staley through different training groups briefly before relocating. Shortly after the relocation process, I was left to my own devices on attempting to make gains with my fitness and strength, and Coach Staley has been more than enormously helpful in his virtual coaching. He has always been prompt with answering inquiries and clarifying any confusions I have had, and also, has educated me so much on the physiology and science on the mechanics of fitness and lifting. He always makes time to ensure that I receive a thorough explanation and that I understand. Also, he has always been willing and successful to provide me with the proper tools necessary in making the gains that I have desired in a shorter amount of time than I had expected. He is excellent in coaching through injuries and I have had successful recoveries due to his consultation. I highly recommend Coach Staley, as he has achieved and maintained tangible results within himself and his clients. His online coaching alone has physically and mentally propelled me into another level of lifting.” — Junko M.
“I recently just started training with Charles for a bikini competition that I am doing in July. The two workouts that I have done with Charles have far surpassed any workout I could ever do on my own! He is very knowledgeable and a great coach to work with. I have already lifted more while training with Charles than I have ever lifted in the past. He has improved my form and technique and I can already tell I am getting stronger because of it. I have no doubt that Charles will have me more than ready when my competition comes and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a good coach! :)” — Taylor B.
“Working with Charles has been great! Each hour + training session were easy to understand and helped me improve my lifts. My only regret is not working with Charles years ago.” — Ryan E.
“Working with Charles has been an absolute privilege. Very knowledgeable and helpful in breaking down detail to you the client and/or trainer in order to achieve your goals. If you have not done so go on T-Nation and research Charles’s methodology on training regiments to maximize your results. Awesome teacher!” — Tyler P.
“Charles is excellent. He is able to make concepts accessible in a way other trainers haven’t. He also helped me understand form and increase my strength more than other programs I have tried. I highly recommend him.” — James P.
